I dont really think Bette has control issues.
I think that she comes across as a woman who loves hard, works hard, appreciates her friends, family & lovers & expects the same in return. Alot of people would call her a control freak for doing things the right way & expecting things & people to do things the right way as well. BUT......people dont for the most part so Bette gets let down by setting herself up for disappointment..............Nobody can live up to Bette's expectations as Bette is educated, beautiful, articulate, classy, tough, moralistic, family oriented & has the heart of a lion. She wants to be loved back. SHE'S THE COMPLETE PACKAGE. My definition for Bette: "MISUNDERSTOOD" **FROM YORFAVRTBLOND**

I almost spit water onto my computer I started laughing so hard.
First.. at the "Jenny" comment. Jenny annoys me to no end in this show.

When is Bette NOT a control freak? The thing is, she has good intentions, but she just totally pushes the envelope and tries too hard. Whether you think you're just being overly polite/friendly/concerned. When you make a point to express your opinions of how you think a person needs to behave or react, then that's a control issue. Overbearing is also a good word to use here.

You may say.. Bette was just trying to make sure that Jodi wasn't excluded from everything. Jodi expressed her feelings about how she just wanted to be able to watch the dinner from her own vantage point, without outside interference, and Jodi said to her on MORE than one occassion.. Do NOT sign for me please. Jodi would only be included in conversation in the conversations that Bette would feel as important, because conversation is interpretation. Who's to choose for Jodi which conversations are more or less important for her to pay attention to?

Bette's concern for Kitt... VERY valid. Pointing it out in the middle of a dinner party... very tactless in my opinion. There's a place and a time to express your concern, and that was NOT it. It felt very controlling in my opinion.

Bette's way of organizing the dinner party, and being totally anal retentive about seating, who sat where, the setting, the ambiance, the food, the drinks... What ever happened to "COME, DRINK AND BE MERRY!" Not come, be herded like cattle, and be chided like a child. Not everyone can understand a personality type like hers, but I can totally understand how she could be construed as being domineering/controlling.

Her character is sexy, smart, articulate, professional, confident, commanding, she is alot of things, that most women only dream they could be. So she comes across as all those things.

The finite point when it comes to her... It doesn't matter what her intent is.. it's the impact she's having on people. She doesn't mean to come across the way she does... but that's how she comes across.

But I love Bette... I can't help but get all weak watching her in ANY sex/romance scene... !!!!!! SMOKIN !!!!!!

^^ I agree with everything you said about Bette.

I would say.. Jenny and Kit.. .. I was going to say Helena but I think the money loss serve them right because they think that they can always get lucky and.. the two need to calm down and Helena needs to smarten up to what Catherine has done to her. She should have taken Alice's advice about looking after her back because, Catherine is very selfish and she'll only care about herself. But my votes goes to Jenny (why? b/c she's just being too irritating lately) and Kit (She should lighten up and stop pushing this whole shit with Angus into everybody's faces, she needs to control herself. Bette is so right when she was @ the dinner table. Why is she even drinking when she knows she's an addict. She need to learn to get over Angus and be a strong person don't let that man bring her down.. I am just upset about that her not being able to pull together, sober and just be happy as she moves on.)
